OUR Mission 

 Working together to improve the quality of life for people with mental illness and their families.

*  To help families in crisis through mutual Support and sharing of experiences .

* to Advocate for better treatment and needed services, including suitable and affordable housing , for persons with mental illness in the Greater Fall River Area.

* to Educate the public about mental illness and the needs of the mentally  ill in order to combat the STIGMA associated with mental illnesses.

* to work for increased funding for Research into the causes and treatments of biochemically - based long - term severe mental illnesses.

OUR Activities

* to provide educational programs, speakers and resource materials to members and the community.

* work with professionals in the field of mental illness to improve the quality of care and services.

*advocate for legislation affecting the mentally ill on the regional , state, and federal levels.

* monitor both public and private providers of mental health care in the community.

 * maintain affiliation with and act as a liason between members and NAMI ( Massachusetts and National Alliance on Mental Illness )

Membership fees

Individual and Family membership ------$25.00                      Associate Membership ----$25.00 ( open to professionals in the mental health field who support our efforts to educate the public and to improve conditions for persons suffering from mental illness.)                                                                       Limited income membership -----$3.00
